The Pope advises the youth at WYD, “Entrust yourselves to prayer, in order to obtain the abundance of a fruitful Christian life”.

Madrid August 16, 2011 – This Sunday, at the Angelus from Castel Gandolfo, Benedict XVI greeted pilgrims that will attend WYD and said “I ask you to accompany us with your prayers for the spiritual fruitfulness of this important event”.

“On Thursday, I will travel to Madrid. “I gives me much joy to encounter all the youths, from diverse countries, that will be present there”, he stated. The Holy Father has insisted on the necessity of “entrusting yourself to prayer” on the apostolic journey to Spain, so that “you may reap abundant fruit for the Christian Life”.

In the same way, he has invited the pilgrims “to meditate on the treasure that is faith, that has been given to us, and should be welcomed with gratitude”. “ Make a responsible commitment to respond to God’s call, and choose to be rooted in Christ. We are not alone, on this journey”, the Pope emphasized.
