Facing a police intimidation campaign against one of their lawyers, thousands of Catholics in Vietnam attended a series of Candlelight vigils to pray for justice and for the safety of their lawyers. Hanoi Redemptorists led a candlelight vigil on Saturday evening, March 7, to pray for Le Tran Luat, the lawyer who is representing Catholic activists in their case against local authorities who brought criminal charges against them for a demonstration at the city's Redemptorist monastery. The lawyer himself has now become a target of police harassment.
