Dear Friends and all the People of good will,

We have received SOS from the Church in Vietnam and we have also been told by the Provincial Superior of Vietnam, Rev. Fr. CAO, Dinh Tri, C.Ss.R., in his letter, which he writes to all the Redemptorists in Vietnam (his letter has been uploaded at http://vietcatholic.net/News/Html/50861.htm) that the Local Government of Hanoi has illegally confiscated the Redemporist Monastery's land in Hanoi. Therefore I would like to let you know and ask you to pray for the Church’s Leaders in Vietnam that they may be strengthen in faith and wisdom to guide the people of God in Vietnam. I ask you specially to keep the Vietnamese Redemptorists in your prayers, as their confreres in Hanoi are facing the most difficult situation at the moment. (For further details, please visit the website: http://vietcatholic.net)

The Redemptorists in Vietnam also want you to pass this information to your own MP, the International Amnesty, and the Government in your own country, so that they may be aware of what is happening in Vietnam.

The truth is, WE DO NOT HAVE FREEDOM OF RELIGION AND THERE IS NO RESPECT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS IN VIETNAM.

As a result, the Vietnamese government could do whatever they want, such as taking away unlawfully property that belongs to the Catholic Church, and other Denominations or the Religious Congregations, such as the Redemptorists in Hanoi.

We would like the world to know and see for yourself - for more details please visit the website: www.vietcatholic.net - what is happening in Vietnam at the moment. We ask for your prayers and for your moral support in our struggle to fight for injustices in Vietnam and for the freedom of all the people who are living under the Communist Regime, and who have been suffering intolerable during the last 50 years.

Please join us as a sign of solidarity by lending us your support. We need you to be united with us and asking the Vietnamese government to respect justice and the fundamental rights of the people, which has been ascribed clearly in the Vietnamese Constitutions.

The Vietnamese government can only be proud of themselves and with other countries in the world, if they truly uphold their own laws, set up by the Government itself. Let’s show the world how authentic and civilized that we are, the country of Vietnam, the pearl of the Far East! A country which has always proud to say that they have more than 4.000 years of culture and civilization. Let’s live up to it and let prove to the world that we really mean it.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Yours sincerely,

Tony My
