2013-09-04 L’Osservatore Romano - In preparation for the day of fasting and prayer for peace and the vigil on Saturday with the Pope in St Peter's Square, the Secretary of State has scheduled a special briefing for all ambassadors accredited to the Holy See that will take place Thursday morning, 5 September. The briefing is to inform the diplomatic corps of the significance of Pope Francis' initiative. The Director of the Holy See Press Office, Fr Federico Lombardi, specified that “the Secretary of State, as well as inviting the ambassadors to the briefing on Thursday, has contacted all the Bishops' Conferences around the world informing them of this initiative and ensuring that the Pope's instructions are being followed”. The Director of the Holy See Press Office then informed journalists that a similar undertaking has been adopted by various dicasteries in the Vatican which have contacted their respective representatives.
